The First Day of School is an exciting time for kids! I remember being excited, nervous, and anxious when the first day of school rolled around. I was particularly excited to wear new clothes and pack my backpack with new school supplies and just feel special that whole day. Since Cory and I decided to homeschool Jaden (at least for our duration of living in North Carolina), I wanted to kick our first official year of Homeschool in a way that would give us momentum and excitement for Jaden in a special way! So we did! :)
The night before took a little time to prepare, but I wanted him to wake up to something special for him!
First day of Pre-K/Kindergarten:
(With this pose, you'd think he grew up in Japan or something ;)
Decorating the school bus!
Decorating his name plate!
Science: How does sound travel? These paper cup telephones actually worked! I've seen this done in movies, but I've never tried them. Pretty neat.
Along with the start of school comes what? FOOTBALL! Jaden's first season of football started, and he seemed to really enjoy it! He IS 4, so there were times of distraction and disinterest on the field, but he still had fun and looked forward to his games and playing with boys every week!
Yep--a little distracted :)
We try to do special "themed" days as a family at least once a month, from morning until bedtime! It has been so much fun...so here's one that we did all about Pirates!
Fish 'n Chips along with mini sausage Pirate Ships for dinner.
Ahoy Matey!! Cory and Jaden built a Pirate's Ship in the living room so that we could eat our dinner, drink our Shark's Blood, and sail along with the movie "Treasure Planet"!
