OctoBRRR!

We went to Utah for a weekend and went to Thanksgiving Point with Kyle and his family. Jaden loved being around other people his age. It was a lot of fun to visit them for a change.

Yummy blueberry pancakes!

Jaden's first snow outting! He was dying to go outside, pulled us to the door, and after we got him all bundled up and into the snow he wanted to come back inside after a few minutes. He wasn't sure about all the "white stuff".

It's Autumn Time!

These are the perfect size for him. The smaller pumpkins he tries to eat. He scrapes off the outer layers of it with his front teeth and realizes that it's not as delicious as he thought. So, he spits it out and tries another spot. He'll learn eventually :).
Grandma finally came to see us again! He remembered her almost instantly; at times, he is so glued to her that he could care less about me (or so it seems ;)
He fell in these bushes and instead of whining, he became extremely intrigued. This is his serious/pondering face that he does when he wants to concentrate. :)

Jaden and I wish you a Happy Fall!

My 1 Year-Old Boy

"Happy, happy birthday Jaden Dear!" I can't believe he is 1 already. Oh my goodness. Well, his first birthday was spent 8 hours in the car driving to Las Vegas. He did fantastic though. We stopped and had dinner at Wingers, in Utah.

Here he is playing with his dessert. Mom and I REALLY enjoyed it after he played in it for a while.

"Playin' with the boys!" Kent and Kyle were able to come up for a few days. It was really fun to have them, and I know they had fun with Dad. Jaden loved having his uncles and Papa around at the same time. He was definitely in need of some guy time.

Helping Uncle Kent! Their first meeting, and they completely hit it off!

When we were in Vegas, there were little rides throughout the mall. He LOVED them, and yes he screamed when it stopped moving and I took him out.

Papa's "Buckaroo". OK, so it's not an E-2; however, it is in the same career field! My sweet, little pilot.

Jaden loves hiding places. Anything that he can crawl into or under, he will find it and be there. He was helping Grandma with the laundry, and once the last item of clothing was out of there, he helped himself to a nice warm place to climb up into.

Another little place to crawl in. This was in the hotel in Vegas on our last trip.

Wearing Papa's shoes! These are a hard pair to fill.

Helping Papa mow the lawn. His is a lot more fun than the actual lawn mower; his plays music!

Yet ANOTHER place to climb into! He was proud of himself for this one. It was a tricky one, what with the wagon tipping over a few times and everything before he mastered balancing it as he got his legs in. Quite the grin, eh? :)

What We Have Been Up To...

This was right before we left the house for church. He is wearing his new StrideRites! When I first put them on him, he did not want to put his feet on the ground. He would hold his legs up in the air when I was trying to stand him up. He got used to the feeling of them quite quickly, however. Now the real difficulty is getting him used to them to the point where he doesn't trip as he tries to walk! Practice makes perfect though!

We had a day out in the sun. It got quite hot, so we cooled off with a popsicle. He ate it all the way down to the stick, and then he, unfortunately, dropped it. When I took it away, he cried so hard. I was not his favorite person at that moment.

This was part of our day out in the sun! I got him this blow up swimming pool. He was not too fond of the freezing water, but enjoyed being outside.

We went to the park one day in Canon City. We had a little picnic with just the two of us, and it was really fun. He loved to see the birds that would hop around on the grass. The trucks that drove by and dogs running around were really intriguing to him as well. He doesn't usually get exposed to that many different sounds and sights up at the cabin.

Jaden went Visiting Teaching with me one afternoon last month. It was a very long day for him, as my companion and I have four ladies to go visit. He was very good during the appointments, but got a bit whiney towards the end. That is expected though. My VT companion took this at the end of our day.

First Steps!!

Here is my sweet baby boy taking his first steps...for a cookie no less! I love it. I was so excited when he did this and HAD to catch it on the camera to share with all of you. It won't be long until the crawling stage is over. I must admit that I am a bit sad about that; however, I am ecstatic at the same time. This is a huge milestone, which makes me say this again: he is growing up so fast! :)

Train Ride!

Jaden's first train ride, and he's lovin' it!

Jaden's first corn dog...he's lovin' that, too! :)

"Mmm nummers!" I think he is going to LOVE "real" food as he gets older. :) He already is such a good eater. Even though he doesn't have back teeth yet, he has the chewing action completely down!

There were several groups of people who were doing white water rafting down the river right next to the railroad tracks. That is the next big adventure that needs to be taken! :) Anyone up for it?

This is the Royal Gorge bridge. People can drive and walk acrossed it. I am not sure if we are going to ever be that adventurous. It looks pretty scary to me!

It was fun to ride by very old architecture. Can you imagina having lived back then??

This was used to carry water into Canon City. It used to be an enclosed wooden tube, but as you can see, the tube has collapsed over time. The frame is still kind of in tact, and the original wooden boards are stuck inside. Pretty cool the different systems they came up with.

Grandma being as cute as she can be on the train ride! :)
Playing with Mommy's hair.

Looking out on the water and other sights of the Royal Gorge!

Laughing with Grandma, on the train, as always! :) Things are EXTRA fun when Grandma is around. We sure are going to miss her!!

Hanging out on the open part of the train. We were out there for over an hour, total. It was gorgeous and so much fun. Jaden did not make a peep the whole time. He is definitely an outdoors baby.

Mommy Time!

Jaden loves being outside, and loves the swing that much more! He is just all smiles and giggles when he is in the swing. It makes me happy just watching him. :)

It is getting sooo green up here at the cabin! It rained for like a week straight, something that was definitely needed. It is getting absolutely gorgeous up here with all the different color greens and flowers that are starting to pop out.

Matchy matchy! I love coordinating outfits with him. He has NO idea, obviously, but I sure have fun :).

Just Bein' Jaden...

My little surfer baby! Grandpa got this cute little outfit in Hawaii, and he fits in it now! Love it, love it!!
Jaden is wearing his Alaska jammies! Bear Hug anyone? :)

Grandma and I were just having some fun. Jaden is such a good little sport. Oh the things we put him through, sometimes :).

Helping Grandma with the laundry! He is very good at pulling OUT the clothes.
Wrestling with his BIG puppy. He cuddles up to that thing everytime he is downstairs. He loves soft things, so this was perfect for him.

Oh Deer!

These deer were spotted right outside the kitchen window in the front of the house. There were about 10 of them out there, just eating and enjoying the morning weather. We see this quite a bit in the morning, like an entire herd in the driveway and everything. It is so much fun and just beautiful being up here in the mountains.
