After this, I took him to school and ran a few errands. I was at home when I got a call from his school. Here is how the conversation went.
(Me) "Hello?"
(Jaden's school) "Um...can you come?"
"Um...what happened?"
"Well, Jaden is okay. Nobody saw it happen, but we think he fell, and he didn't cry at all. Ms. Cheri just noticed blood. His shirt has blood all over it."
I'm freaking out in my head, at this point. All I can think of is "Are you kidding me?"
"Okay, yeah, I'll be there as fast as I can. I'm walking out of the door."
"Okay, thanks."
"See you in a bit, Bye"
"K bye."
I drove to the school as fast as I could, preparing myself for this awful head trauma. Don't get me wrong, the amount of blood made it look horrible, and how scary for Jaden to have everyone fussing over him and asking him questions (I'm just imagining this happening, by the way. I don't actually know what's going on at his school. Panic? Probably a good guess.) Anyway, I got to the school, and saw the back of his shirt, and sure enough, there was blood all over his collar. He wasn't crying and hadn't been crying at all, until he saw me, and then he did. Bless his heart! I couldn't get a good look at his head, but I checked his eyes and no concussion. They tried to clean it up, but his hair was in the way, and I couldn't tell if it was superficial or if it was an actually split-like gash in the back of his head. My friend, who lives downstairs from me, is a nurse and another mom, and I am so blessed to have her downstairs for so many reasons. I called her on my way home to get a second opinion on his head. I didn't think he needed stitches, but I wanted to make sure. I don't know anything about these things! She cleaned up the blood around it that had oozed out on the car ride home, and said he should be fine. Thank goodness!
I took him upstairs into our apartment and took a picture (how could I not?). Luckily, my phone flashed and I was able to get a better look at his owie than I had before. Apparently head wounds bleed a lot for the trauma that they receive.
He is all better now, thank goodness! And yes, he needs a haircut.
