Beach time with Papa! Jaden loves his water time with Papa. Beautiful Hawaii day, isn't it?
He posed himself on the rock all by himself, once I said "Jaden, let's take a picture!" Model in the making?
Relaxing at the pool. He could just bob and float in this thing for hours. It looks pretty comfy!
Jaden and I have taken advantage of the gorgeous sunsets that they have here. We often take evening walks, and if the timing is right, we'll stop at the beach to watch the sunset and chase birds (his new found love!). I love how the wave crashed up against the rock, just in time to snap this picture.
I have met a few girlfriends here who have kids around Jaden's age. We do play dates at the pool and meet at the beach and things like that. It's nice because they each have a little boy. Boys are so funny when they play together! One morning, we all met at the local library in Kapolei and watched a little presentation on bunnies that was going on. Afterwards, all the kids could come up and pet them. I loved how gentle Jaden was. He was so excited!
Beautiful rainbow of the islands!
I have a friend here who is an Army wife. She has a little girl just about Jaden's age. We have gone on hikes and done play dates and they just seem to get along really well. Here are some pictures before we left for one of our hikes. He wanted to make funny faces and take pictures, so we did!
Cienna and Jaden holding hands...he did this all on his own.
He got a hold of my phone, and took this picture of himself. I just love those chubby cheeks!!
Beach time with Grandma!
Nap time. I can never resist snapping a picture of a sleeping baby.
On rainy days, or just afternoons, we'll shoot on over to Target. I let him loose in the kids' section and he plays for a good half hour with all of the toys. I let him make a mess of the isles, and then we clean it up afterwards. The Target here isn't a very busy one, so he doesn't bother anyone. He thinks he has new toys when he does this. He has a blast, and it saves me money! :)
Little baseball player.
Fighting the dragons..
Yes...those are penguins in the background. Jaden thought this was really cool. He would sit on the ledge and just watch them for a long time. It was hard to pry him away!
A limo taxi. So fun!
Dinner at Jimmy Buffett's. This is a must go to place if you ever run into one. It's a great place for kids, because there are huge videos playing on the walls, fun music, and amazing food.
This plate of nachos was MASSIVE. This picture does not do it justice. You could eat it for an hour, and it would look the same as it does now...uneaten.
Fish and chips, my favorite!
On the beach waiting for the Hilton, friday night fireworks. Jaden LOVED them. His eyes just lit when they started shooting up in the sky.
The next morning, we woke up to another beautiful day in paradise! We all went down to a little cove right next to the hotel, and Papa rented this paddle boat. Jaden had a blast on it, and Papa and I got a good leg workout!
Jaden is on there with us. You can kind of see his little head poking out between Papa and I.
Luau!! Mom, Jaden, and I all went to a Luau at Paradise Cove. It was, by far, the best Luau I have ever been to. It was a fun excuse for Mom and I to get dressed up a little bit and have a fun outing with Jaden. Jaden was in awe the entire time. It lasted about 4 hours, which was a concern for Mom and I. But when we got there, we had our own special entrance, got complimentary fruity drinks, and walked around watching the different events that they had going on before dinner and the show started. I have some videos of it that I will post further down. Jaden loved to see the man climb the coconut tree and watch the fishermen throw their nets into the ocean. He even got to hold live birds. That was his favorite! He STILL talks about it. We all ate a huge, yummy dinner and were entertained the whole night. I wish you could have seen Jaden's face when the dancers came out. Jaden started to cry when we left because they had music playing for the guests to leave to. He thought it wasn't over yet and cried, "It's not over, I want to watch the music..." Very cute.
We got real leis!
Holding the birds. Pure joy..
One day, we all ventured out to the Hawaii Temple. It's beautiful there; well, every temple is beautiful. This was the first time that Jaden has ever been on Temple grounds, so it was fun to see his face. He really liked it. I love that I can teach him about temples and about the gospel and have him make connections to primary songs when he goes and sees what he sings about.
After the Temple, we just had to stop by the Dole Pineapple Plantation and score us some delicious pineapple ice cream and have Jaden see the baby pineapples growing. That was a lot of fun!
Jaden and Papa walking on the Pineapple grounds..
Oh yes....
Happy Easter! On Easter, we woke up and went to Church, and when Jaden and I returned, the Easter bunny made his stop at our house! He left Jaden a little basket of toys and hid eggs with goodies inside! This year was so much fun because Jaden was actually able to get excited about this!
The Easter Bunny left Jaden eggs filled with dried fruit, grapes, peanuts, and sugar free candy. So when he opened up all of the eggs, he placed the goodies on a plate and was able to eat it all up for his snack while I was getting dinner ready. It worked out nicely!
Putting his opened eggs back in the basket...he's a good little picker-upper (when he wants to be :)
Our wonderful Easter Bunny cake that Papa frosted for us before he and Grandma left. What a treat!!
One day, we decided to build a fort. He loves little places to hide. He hung out in here all day: ate lunch, had a snack, watched a movie. I'm sure he would've slept in here if I let him!
Aloha from one of the most beautiful places on Earth! We love you all!!
